Anti-Oedipus at the Psych Ward
reading anti-oedipus at the psych ward and shaking my head at the doctors whenever they walk by so they know i don’t agree with psychiatry as an institution GILLES DELEUZE AND FÉLIX GUATTARI ANTI-OEDIPUS CAPITALISM AND SCHIZOPHRENIA PENGUIN MODERN CLASSICS
A person holds up the book Anti-Oedipus by Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari inside what appears to be a psychiatric hospital. The joke is that the reader theatrically rejects psychiatry as an institution while visibly reading a notoriously dense work of anti-psychiatry and critical theory. It is used as an ironic reaction to signal contrarian intellectualism, institutional distrust, or performative theory-brooding.
