When the suppressed emotions break loose
I've seen plenty. Those battlefield emotions that the nanos suppress... What are you talking about?
A dramatic Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance exchange between Senator Armstrong and Raiden cuts from grim battlefield imagery to a cheerful horned anime girl dancing and posing, before returning to Raiden. The joke is the absurd contrast between serious military dialogue about suppressed battlefield emotions and an unexpectedly upbeat anime dance edit, amplified by the energetic electronic music “We Are Japanese Goblin (Full Version)” by aliceintheskies. It works as a reaction to suddenly unleashing chaotic, goofy energy in an otherwise serious situation.
