The meme places posters for Puss in Boots: The Last Wish and Metal Gear Rising beneath a dramatic plot summary. The summary describes events from both stories, including a side character becoming the protagonist, a near-death defeat, bonding with a talking dog, confronting personal demons, and a final battle with a respected rival. The punchline is that both plots are presented as nearly identical, ending with the absurd comparison between a giant final villain in Puss in Boots and the wildly over-the-top action of Metal Gear Rising.
