We Sing About War
We sing about a girl waiting in home We sing about glory of war We're freezing to death, the snow's so deep we can't find tell rivers and roads apart, we can't cook our food, what wood we find is too green to light, we go to bed in soaked bedrolls, we're going to fucking die, and the higher ups don't just not care, they planned for it.
Three cartoon soldiers sing progressively darker songs about waiting at home, the glory of war, and the brutal reality of military service. The punchline is the final soldier's exhausted rant: war is not glorious, and the suffering was deliberately planned by commanders. It is used as an absurdly grim reaction to romanticized or patriotic depictions of war.
