Map Projections on a Human Head
Upper left: Globular. Upper right: Orthographic. Lower left: Stereographic. Lower right: Mercator What four commonly used projections do, as shown on a human head
A black-and-white diagram shows four map projection grids applied to a human head: globular, orthographic, stereographic, and Mercator. The joke comes from demonstrating distorted geography projections through the increasingly warped appearance of the face, making it useful as an absurd reaction to different kinds of distortion or misunderstanding.
