Spain Portugal Israel Palestine Map
Why are we still arguing about Israel and Palestine? I thought we settled this in 1494? Legend Spain Portugal
A map meme shows the world and a zoomed-in view of Israel and Palestine, with Spain and Portugal dominating the map according to the legend. The joke refers to the 1494 Treaty of Tordesillas, which divided newly claimed territories between Spain and Portugal, humorously applying that colonial division to the modern Israel–Palestine conflict.
