A Trace of the True Self
and yet a trace of the true self exists in the false self
A surreal transformation diagram shows a sand-covered machine becoming overlapping colored circles, then a computer processor, and finally an hourglass. The joke references philosophical ideas about identity and continuity, suggesting that even after repeated transformations, a trace of the original self remains. It works as an absurd reaction to change, replacement, or existential confusion.
