A Linux kernel commit screenshot is paired with a grinning Tux-like penguin wearing Greg Kroah-Hartman's face. The joke comes from the commit messages repeatedly removing things, especially the deliberately crude “unnecessary ass” line, while the image asks whether GNU/Linux is mad. It is used as an absurd reaction to strange or entertaining open-source code changes.
