Mastercard Replaces Master
GitHub to replace "master" with alternative term to avoid slavery references mastercard mastercard
A two-panel image shows a worried-looking puppet character with the Mastercard logo and the word “mastercard” overlaid in both panels. The joke mocks GitHub’s proposal to replace the term “master” because of slavery-related associations, pointing out that Mastercard still contains the word “master.” It is used as a sarcastic reaction to overly literal or performative renaming efforts.
