Modded Chromebooks for Hackers

modded chromebooks are arguably more open than any other computer on the market today you can buy a solid and (imo) sexy laptop with a two year old CPU and run coreboot, no other brand can do this. if you are american this is also CHEAP also thinkpad quality is kinda mid? its just like chromebooks there are some bad ones i think this qualifies them to fill the place of thinkpads for hackers and FOSS diehards

A person holds an ASUS laptop in front of a monitor, showing a text editor with an opinion about modified Chromebooks, Coreboot, ThinkPads, hackers, and FOSS enthusiasts. The joke is a strongly worded tech take arguing that inexpensive, modifiable Chromebooks can replace ThinkPads for budget-conscious hackers and open-source diehards. It can be shared as a reaction to debates about laptop quality, Linux hardware, or open-source computing.
