x86 Gets Weirdly Advanced
i like how x86 advanced over the years 25 years ago you only had stuff like mov (moves value), add (adds value) sub (subtracts value) etc (et cetera) now we get stuff like xtrsprfstcmd that adds and subtracts two values, multiplies the result and then gets intimate with your mother after having quite a nice date together all in one clock cycle
A black-background programming joke compares simple old x86 instructions with an absurdly powerful fictional instruction. The punchline is that the invented instruction performs arithmetic, has a date, and insults the reader’s mother, all in one clock cycle.
