Software Jobs Are Fucking Over
daily reminder it is fucking OVER in 2022 we pumped out a record breaking 100k+ bachelor in computer science graduates from 2022 to 2032 the amount of jobs in software dev/qa/testing is only expected to increase by 25% according to the bureau of labor statistics. this is only 400k new jobs in 2022 to 2024 alone we will have created more graduates than the amount of jobs that will be created in the next ten years :-) not to mention we haven't even technically began the recession yet with all of this in mind, what exercises does /g/ recommend to get good at mixing drinks at starbucks? is there a starbucks leet code? 7 replies
EN: A forum post grimly discusses the oversupply of computer science graduates, weak growth in software development, testing, and QA jobs, and the looming recession. The author sarcastically asks what exercises could help them get good at mixing drinks at Starbucks, implying that programming graduates may have to work as baristas; the mention of Starbucks LeetCode heightens the absurd hopelessness.
