Elrond Loses His Kingdom
When your buddy goes, “hey dude, I just lost my kingdom, can I crash at your place until I get back on my feet?” and then stays for 16 generations of his bloodline
Elrond from The Lord of the Rings facepalms in exasperation. The joke imagines a friend losing his kingdom, moving in temporarily, and then remaining as a hereditary guest for sixteen generations. It is used as a reaction to someone overstaying their welcome or turning a temporary favor into a permanent arrangement.
