Italian Retirees Watching Construction
Apparently Italy has a subculture of retired men who stand around watching construction sites with their hands clasped behind their backs that's so common it actually has a name (Umarell).
A group of older Italian men stand with their hands clasped behind their backs, watching a construction site beside an ornate building. The joke explains the Italian term “Umarell” for retired men who habitually observe construction work, turning an ordinary scene into a recognizable cultural stereotype.
