Programming Languages and Lambdas
LANGUAGES ARRANGED BY WHEN THEY INCLUDED LAMBDAS EARLIER IT'S NICE TO BE ON TOP. OH, HEY, I DIDN'T SEE YOU GUYS ALL THE WAY OVER THERE. Java C++ C# JavaScript Smalltalk LISP
An xkcd-style comic shows stick figures representing programming languages arranged along a timeline according to when they added lambda functions. JavaScript celebrates being near the top, while LISP, an early language with lambdas, stands far to the right and sarcastically says it did not see the others over there; the joke is that the timeline arrow is reversed or the languages are arranged in a deliberately confusing way.
