Traveling the World on Benefits
Overheard in Bali - an Indian guy asking a European girl, how did you get the idea to travel around the world for a year. Real Answer - my government gives me unemployment benefit, so I can leverage my currency arbitrage & travel the “world” aka cheap counties
A text post recounts an overheard conversation in Bali between an Indian man and a European woman. The joke is that the European traveler can afford a year of global travel because of unemployment benefits and favorable currency exchange rates, making inexpensive countries feel like the whole world. It is used as a sarcastic reaction to claims that long-term travel is purely adventurous or financially effortless.
