Tılcayo Wikipedia Article
Tılcayo The tilcayo (/tɪlˈkaʊoʊ/ til-KYE-oh; Spanish pronunciation: [tilˈkajo]; Leopardus tilcayo) is a species of small wildcat in the genus Leopardus native to Bolivia. Identified through a September 2026 genetic study of tiger cats, the tilcayo is the first extant cat species formally described since 1923. The tilcayo was already known to local communities, and named as such; however, its visual appearance is extremely similar to that of other tiger cat species, and it had not been identified as a genetically distinct population by zoologists until documented in the September 2026 study. A screenshot of a mobile Wikipedia article about the tilcayo, showing a spotted wildcat walking in captivity. The joke presents a seemingly newly discovered cat species with an absurdly specific Wikipedia entry, matching the idea of an editor rushing to document every new cat. It works as a reaction to someone enthusiastically creating an article for a newly noticed animal.
