Soviet Union Brings Progress
Wealth Democracy Progress Civil rights Soviet Union Eastern Europe
A Soviet soldier kneels dramatically amid flames while Eastern Europe lies asleep in bed. The joke is an ironic political caricature suggesting that the Soviet Union destroyed or suppressed wealth, democracy, progress, and civil rights in Eastern Europe rather than bringing them. It is used as an anti-Soviet reaction meme about authoritarian influence and historical repression.
