Coffee Forums in Utter Chaos
coffee forums are in a state of utter chaos after a company came out with a $350 pourover machine that completely obliterates enthusiasts who have been doing pourovers for 10+ years Now, for me, what was the important part, what kind of results have I been getting? I am actually really impressed with the result; it is right out of the box, using their standard profiles. But with everything being the same as far as water, beans, and my grinder, the results were impressively good. The coffee I got was much more full-bodied and had much more subtler notes than I have been getting using my standard pour-over technique. A little depressing with all the time and effort I have put into trying to improve my technique over the years.
A screenshot of a social media post says coffee forums are in chaos after a $350 pour-over machine reportedly produces better coffee than years of manual technique development. The highlighted review admits that the machine gives fuller-bodied coffee and subtler notes with standard settings, making the enthusiasts’ effort feel pointless.
