Minions 911 Easter Egg Hoax
In 2013, the Minions became a topic fraught with controversy when it was discovered that dialling 911 with the game Minion Rush installed on your phone would play a voice clip of the siren minion from the movie instead of putting you through to an operator. This reportedly led to over 14 thousand deaths across the US before a patch was released which removed the Easter egg. - Calls to 911 Will no longer trigger a minion voice clip instead of putting the caller through to the appropriate emergency operator.
A fake social media post claims that calling 911 while Minion Rush was installed caused a Minion siren voice clip to play instead of connecting the caller to emergency services. It escalates the absurd premise by claiming thousands died before a patch removed the Easter egg, parodying sensational gaming news and fake patch notes.
