Closer to 2069 Than Prehistory
We’re closer to the year 2069 than to 24 million BC
The video shows two stern, aging soldiers from Metal Gear Solid reacting to the realization that the present is closer to the year 2069 than to 24 million BC. The joke is an absurd perspective on time: even an unimaginably distant future is nearer than the age of prehistoric life, making the characters’ serious expressions funny as a reaction to a bizarre fact.
