Death in the Family Excuse
Keep me updated on what time you're expecting to be here It's understandable why you would be late, but regardless anything that prevents you from being at the workplace other than a death in the family is unexcused at any company.
A badly damaged car sits on the road after a crash, while a text message calmly says that being late to work is unexcused unless there has been a death in the family. The joke is the absurdly strict workplace attitude contrasted with an obviously serious accident, making it a reaction to unreasonable bosses or work expectations.
