A parody of a Marvel-style release slate presents a fictional “Phase One” lineup for The Lord of the Rings, including absurd spin-offs about Candalф, the Hobbit, Tom Goldberry, and Aragorn. The joke is that Tolkien’s world is treated like an overextended cinematic universe with increasingly unnecessary prequels and alternate scenarios. It is shared as a reaction to franchise expansion and endless spin-offs.
