The Rent Reducer 9000: A gun in a box disguising it as a free little library. A raspberry pi scrapes Zillow for open houses nearby. During open house hours, it tells a starter pistol/cap gun to fire a few times. Seen here at an art thing I brought it to.
A homemade contraption in a wooden box is displayed at an art event, disguised as a free little library. It uses a Raspberry Pi to find nearby open houses and fires a starter pistol during visiting hours. The joke is an absurd anti-real-estate device intended to make houses less desirable and reduce rent, shared as a reaction to housing-market frustration.
