The Cheapest Way to Control Lights
unlocking my phone and pressing a button that sends an HTTP request to google's servers which then send an HTTP request to some servers in shenzhen which then send a request to the lamp in my room to tell it to turn on. it may seem complicated but it's the cheapest way we know of to control lights
A text-only joke describes turning on a room lamp through an absurd chain of HTTP requests involving a phone, Google’s servers, servers in Shenzhen, and finally the lamp. The punchline is that this wildly overcomplicated infrastructure is presented as the cheapest known way to control lights, parodying cloud-based smart-home systems and excessive software abstraction.
