C++ and the Constitution
Btw I think C++ and the Constitution of the US are very similar. They developed it in ancient days. It has many oddities. They add regularly new features/amendments but don't remove old stuff. But they're both very important and groundbreaking. Still I'm glad to live in an European country where they've learned from the mistakes of the American Constitution, and I'm glad to program in Rust where they've learned from the mistakes of C++. Also, they both enshrine in law the right for people to blow their own feet off with automatic weapons.
A Reddit comment compares C++ with the U.S. Constitution, arguing that both are old, influential systems burdened by accumulated quirks. The reply delivers the punchline by pointing out that both supposedly protect the right to blow one’s own feet off with automatic weapons, turning the comparison into absurd criticism of gun rights and legacy design.
