Dark Souls Ember Mode
Whenever I play dark souls 3 I never ember before a boss. I treat embering like it’s MY second phase and I’m the boss fight. So when I’m half out of estus, I’ll go ember mode and play more aggressive. It’s especially cool when you are against a lord of cinder and they ember at the same time as you. I’ll even mutter things to myself like “impressive, but can you face this ash alighteth?” Or “hmph enough playing, let’s finish this”
A Dark Souls 3 player describes deliberately saving Embering until the middle of a boss fight, treating it like a dramatic second phase. The joke is the exaggerated roleplay and self-serious fantasy dialogue, especially when fighting a Lord of Cinder who also uses an Ember at the same time. This is shared as a humorous reaction to overdramatic gaming behavior and intense boss-fight roleplay.
