Why does God never answer yet Odin unironically does. I don’t want to stem from my faith and shouldn’t ask things of other gods but they seem more than happy to help me when God remains silent.

After other Norse gods and goddesses also seem to answer requests for strength, knowledge, and fertility, the student is comically torn between loyalty to Christianity and the apparent effectiveness of pagan gods. It is used as an absurd reaction to situations where an unlikely solution works better than the expected one.
