Remote Worker Home Interview
Because remote workers are secretly holding down 50 jobs at once, we've decided to interview candidates in-person, at their house going forward. You heard that right. I travel to interview every single candidate's house who makes it past our phone screen. - I prove they are who they say they are - I get to see if they're clean, have good taste, etc - I even shadow them for a full workday to make sure they don't have any other jobs they are secretly working on So far, this round has a 100% failure rate. Every single remote candidate I've met has secretly been working multiple jobs. But where you see a 100% failure rate for hire, I see a 100% success rate for dodging bullets. Work smarter and harder.
A humorous LinkedIn post describes interviewing remote job candidates inside their homes to check whether they secretly work multiple jobs. The joke is that every candidate supposedly fails this intrusive test, while the writer reframes the rejection rate as a success because the company avoids hiring people who might be overemployed. It is shared as a sarcastic reaction to extreme employer surveillance and anti-remote-work attitudes.
